I had the pleasure of illustrating a children's book for a client as a gift for his grand-daughter, Elena. My client, Danny, is an attorney who devotes his free time to his non-profits dealing with raising awareness on oceanic life and the part we play in their destruction. We both bonded over our love for the ocean and seafood and knew right off the bat what a fun passion project this would be.

Danny gave me full creative freedom with the style and direction I wanted to take the book artistically. Thinking back to my time as a child, I remembered drawing on absolutely every surface imaginable (as do most children) and wanted to allow space on each spread to act as a coloring book.
